Satan (or the devil) is real.
Satan was once an angel (Lucifer) who served God. Pride overtook him and he wanted to become like God, basically overthrow God and take His place! Of course, God is more powerful than Satan and kicked him out of heaven on to Earth, where the devil has been given a certain amount of authority to reign as prince of this world.
Even though Satan has rebelled against God and is at war with God, he is still under God’s power and authority. Satan does not have more power than God.
God uses Satan to accomplish his purposes and Satan can do nothing about it.
Here are some Bible verses that confirm the reality of Satan’s existence.
One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. (Job 1:6)
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” (Matthew 4:1-3)
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)
Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. (Acts 26:16-18)
The Bible warns us all:
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
The Bible also tells us how we can stand up to the devil:
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. (Ephesians 6:11)
If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to ask.
God bless you all.
