You WILL face trials!
Just because you have accepted Jesus and become a Christian, don’t for a second think that all your problems are over and life will be perfect here on out!
If you have recently come to know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, that is, you are new to the Christian faith; there are some things you need to be aware of as you start your journey.
Part 1 looked at the reality of Satan or the devil and how new believers need to acknowledge and be aware that he is real and out to attack and destroy Christians and turn them away from Jesus/God.
In this video, the focus is trials and how new Christians should be prepared to face struggles, persecutions and attacks from all sides and be careful and remain committed to trusting in Jesus, reading the Bible, praying and being part of a Church fellowship, so that you will not get discouraged and turn away from Christ.

The Bible verses that I have based this video on are:
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:10
Whether you are a new Christian or have been walking with Jesus for many years, the Bible tells us, Jesus, our God tells us that when we are persecuted because of our righteousness in Jesus, we are blessed! If the persecution comes because of something wrong we have done, because of a crime we have committed or some sin that we have committed, that is because of our own doing.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 5:11-12
When we face trials and persecutions and people hate us and say bad things about us and to us, Jesus tells us to rejoice! Why? Because we are not the only ones who have faced this. Many godly people in the Old Testament and New Testament suffered because of their faith and they were blessed because they did not waver or give up on God, no matter what they faced. We should be the same!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
Jesus has already overcome the world and sits at the right hand of God! Why do we need to worry about anything? So, let us decide today, now, that Jesus will always be our peace, no matter what comes our way!
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8
Don’t be careless with your faith in Christ. Spend time with Jesus. Read and study the Bible. Be a part of Church fellowship. Encourage and be encouraged by other Christians who are pursuing Jesus.
Trust Jesus! If you start analysing and questioning God because of the trials you are facing, the enemy will seize the opportunity to completely turn you away from God.
Following Jesus is a life long journey that requires committment and the desire on your part. You are never alone! The Holy Spirit of God is in you, with you!
