How many of you have ever asked yourself this question, not for your business or the company you work for, but for yourself, as an individual?
I believe it is an important question that needs to be asked and answered!
If you haven’t taken the time to do so, then, the reality is that you are wasting your time on social media!
Of course, if your aim is to “kill time”, then you are good to go.
If you are on social media “just because”, that’s fine as well.
If the two reasons above don’t apply to you, then, you need to think long and hard, what it is you’re hoping to achieve by spending all this time on social media.
Are you on social media
- to further a cause?
- to meet people with interests/passions similar to yours?
- to expand your professional network?
- to find new opportunities?
- to help others?
- to share your knowledge?
I have a few reasons for being on social media and my activities reflect those reasons.
My time is precious to me and therefore, I cannot afford to waste it by being aimless.
I’ll bet anything that you feel the same way about the time you have at your disposal.
If you have never done so, I would strongly suggest that you spend just a few minutes and decide on what your social media goal is.ย What is it that you hope to achieve by being on social media?
It can be a short term or long term goal, so long as you have a goal.
Don’t waste your time.ย Decide what your social media goal is and make the most of your time.
Choose wisely.
Make sure that your goal has the right impact on your life and the life of others.
Those who get on social media for the wrong reasons/motives, mess it up for themselves and others.
