Importance of the Resurrection
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is mentioned directly 104 or more times in the New Testament. It was the most prominent and central point of the teaching of the Apostles. This truth has power to save anyone who believes it (Romans 10: 9,10).
Results and Implications of the Resurrection
• It demonstrates the Deity of Christ. Romans 1: 4.
• That there is life after death. Hebrews 9:27.
• That by death Christ destroyed death. Romans 6: 9,10. Colossians 2: 15, 16. and has the keys of death. Revelation 1: 18.
• Believers shall live with Him. John 11: 25; 14: 19. Romans 7: 14; Romans 5: 9,10.
• In the Resurrection we have an illustration and demonstrationof God’s greatness and power. Eph.1: 18-20.
• It means that God no longer judges mankind. This is now the right of God’s Son. John 5: 22,26,27.
• The Resurrection of Jesus opens the door to the “whosoever” and that He, alone, has power to forgive sins. John 3:16. Rev.22: 17).
• He will return to rule and reign on earth, as He promised. Acts 1:10,11: Titus 2: 13.
• That the future of the Church, Israel and believers among the Gentiles is assured. Zechariah 12:10. Chapter 14.
• He will judge all mankind with final expulsion at the Great White Throne of judgement. Revelation 20 v.11-15.
• That the Great Commission must be the priority of His people. Matthew 28 v.19, 20; Acts 8 v.4.
• By the Son’s resurrection it means that God has accepted Christ, and Christ alone, as man’s Saviour and has turned His back on any, or all, other forms of redemption. He alone is worthy “Hear you Him”. 1 Corinthians 3 v.11; Acts 4 v.12.
HE WHO IS THE ALPHA AND OMEGA IN ETERNITY IS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH IN TIME (Revelation 1:8; Hebrews 12:2 and Philippines 1:6).
