On 6/3, I received an email which said this right at the beginning:
We are pleased to inform you that as one of the outstanding talents in our developer community, you have been nominated as one of a few elite members of the Nokia Developer Champions Program. Congratulations!
It was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise, so much so that I thought it was just a scam email of some sort 🙂 I replied to the sender and it turned out to be a legitimate email. I was delighted, excited, pleased and everything else in between. I was unaware that someone had thought highly enough of me/my contributions to nominate me and that means a lot to me.
On 12/3, I got the confirmation email and it was the perfect start to the day. Irrespective of what others may think of the program, I consider it a huge honour that I was selected as a Nokia Developer Champion. i consider it a big deal to be acknowledged and recognised by Nokia as a person who adds value to the Windows Phone developer community.
I don’t think I am better than anyone else, nor do I have any intention for this to fuel my pride and ego. I have always offered my assistance to the community and expressed quite clearly that I am willing to help others in every way possible. Whenever I needed help, a number of individuals stepped up to help me, so it was a natural decision and desire for me to give back in the same manner. This is why I do what I do. I have been helping others long before I was a Nokia Developer Champion and I have every intention and desire to continue in that path, during and after my season as a Nokia Developer Champion.
Thank you Nokia for selecting me as a Nokia Developer Champion. My special thanks and gratitude also goes out to Vaughan Knight, Developer Relations Manager at Nokia, who has been a great help to me on many occasions. I also thank Nick Abbott, who heads the Developer Experience at Nokia, for his support. Thank you both for doing all that you do to help developers like myself.
As a Nokia Developer Champion, as a member of the developer community, I am eager to help others in any way I can. So, I encourage you to get in touch with me. You can find me on Twitter (@SrikanthNairPro) or you can email me. Quite often, you will hear back from me rather quickly 🙂
Whether you have a question or concern or suggestion or criticism to share, I will hear you out. If I have an answer, I will share it with you. If not, I will direct you to someone who does.
Thank you for reading.
Thank Sri 🙂
Congrats Srikanth 🙂
Thanks Senthil!
