I too fell prey to the “Global Financial Crisis” on August 3, 2009!
🙂 Yes, I am smiling cause I am trusting in the Lord to see me through it all! I am excited and can’t wait to see what He’s gonna do in my life!
Ok. Enough about that! Moving on…
You know what cracks me up?
Everybody’s blaming everything on “the crisis”!
Bro, can you give me a piece of gum? Can’t dude! You know how it is with this crisis.. I’m like “What????”
From poor performance at work (translated: existing laziness) to bad dental cavities (and I quote. “I see long-term unemployment as a real, treacherous disease. And it kills. It kills,” said Boston University sociologist Thomas Cottle, ticking off side effects from stress and hypertension to depression, alcoholism and drug addiction. Even the rate of dental cavities goes up as the unemployed tend to put off routine medical care, said Cottle, author of “Hardest Times: The Trauma of Long Term Unemployment.” Full article here. It’s sad overall.) to just one car in the garage (the horror!!! The 16 year old can’t total daddy’s Porsche no more :() Yes. The “crisis” is the Grinch who stole Christmas.
The rich are still rich, except they are just raking fewer millions in at this point. And they’ve had to watch, in measured or politically correct sorrow, as their underpaid (choose: Mexican, Latin American, Chinese, Indian, Filipino and so on) slaves..err..I mean maids..I mean “you’re just like family” had to leave because they can’t survive on the measly salaries they are paid, anymore. Fewer vacations in Monaco. Fewer gaudy jewellery. Fewer trans Atlantic flights in decked out Lear jets. Tsk Tsk. It’s the hard knock life.
Meanwhile, honest hard working people are losing their jobs, many out of a home and still many seeing their marriages and families, falling apart.
For these, the crisis is real.
Governments, banks, financial institutions and big businesses (to name a few of the guilty) gambled with money that these folks worked hard for, pocketing billions in the process, but leaving them destitute, in the end.
It’s pretty bleak. But it’s not over.
God, the Almighty, is still on His throne and still in control!
For the atheists and other lunatics riding the same bandwagon, I feel sad for you. Yeah, I know. Faith. God. Christ. It’s our crutch right? We lean on it to survive and limp through our petty existence. Right? Yeah. You keep your rotten pride to yourself and keep believing that. What? You rather shoot yourself in the head and end your life than consider even for a moment that you are wrong to have judged us “crazy” people who trust in and rely on God!
For those who believe in Jesus Christ, as Lord, Savior, the Son of God, God Himself – our faith is indeed being tested. Many who “claim” to be Christians will fall away 🙁 But, I urge you. Do not despair. The Lord’s love for you remains unchanged. He feeds the sparrows. He will feed you and clothe you and take care of you as well! Not just you, even your loved one’s. Only, hold on to Him!
God bless you all.
