It broke my heart when I read the article above today :(. I can find many more if I spend enough time searching.
Prosperity Gospel is not a new phenomenon. That it continues to fool believers amazes me!
What do these false preachers use from the Bible, God’s Word, to support their so called approach to ministry?
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
There are other verses/stories that they use, but I believe Luke 6:38, is the cornerstone to this sham, this con, this blasphemy against the Lord Almighty!
As much as I consider them (prosperity preachers) criminals and devils in disguise, I charge the so called Christians (who chase after them and consider them God’s shepherds) with foolishness, ignorance of the Word and who the Lord Jesus Christ and who God is. Why? Because they are quick to believe what their itching ears want to hear, without verifying the claims of these charlatans by studying the Word of the Lord. When Paul shared the message of Jesus Christ, the Bereans examined what the apostle said, against the Scriptures. Look at what the Scriptures say in Acts 17:11:
Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
If the words of APOSTLE PAUL were examined by these believers, how much more should we examine what we hear from the so called prosperity gospel preachers and others today!
The sad reality is that we are eager to be spoon-fed and will readily gulp down anything we hear, if it has a little bit of Jesus, a little bit of grace, little bit of love, little bit of truth – all sprinkled on it. A beautiful and delicious plate filled with goodies and topped with crap is..well CRAP!
The whole truth and nothing but the truth. Everything else is a lie. There is no lukewarm, only hot or cold. We have invented enough ways and means to confirm everything to our liking.
Let’s not continue doing the same to the Word of the Living God and insult our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Give, when the Lord leads you to. Ask Him where He would like you to give and to who. He MIGHT bless you on this side of heaven or He may not! We give, share, serve, obey, love – because He first loved us and loved us so much that He willingly died for you and I, that if we believe He is who He said He is, His Word says He is – Lord, Savior, God – we can dwell forever with Him in heaven.
